Since 1955, we have been serving lobsters fresh from the waters surrounding Bailey Island. All of our seafood and meats are of the highest quality. Our lobster, shrimp, scallops and shellfish are purchased right at our wharf to ensure supreme freshness.
We are a destination for tour groups. You can take Nature Cruises, fishing and sailing charters right from our dock, hold a lobster bake or a wedding on Cook’s Point, and watch lobstermen bring in their catch on our wharf. We also hold many special events during the year such as beer and wine dinners, fireworks in July, tuna and sport fishing tournaments among others. Join our Cook’s Fan Club at left to be notified of our upcoming events!
In 1998, Cook’s was selected to take part in the international Visa award winning campaign which featured extraordinary businesses worldwide that accept Visa, but not American Express.
Cook’s has been selected one of the top ten seafood restaurants in New England for more than ten years in a row. Cook’s is continually rated #1 in the Maine Mid Coast Area.
To add to your experience of dining by the sea, we suggest a walk along the point to enjoy an unparalleled view of the world’s only Cribstone bridge. The bridge, built in 1927, was entered in the National Register of Historic Places in April 1975 and designated a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark by the American Society of Civil Engineers in 1984.
From there, continue on to our fully operational wharf and watch as the boats come in from Casco Bay to sell that day’s catch. Their bounty might be served in our restaurant or loaded into our fleet of trucks for shipment from Bailey Island to points across America. We hope you will get a taste of the local flavor that has made Cook’s Lobster House a Maine landmark for over half a century.
